READ, READ, READ!!! Parents, the best way for your child to become a better reader is to READ EVERYDAY! Find out what interests your student and go with it.
MATH FACTS MATTER!! It is the expectation that your student comes to fifth grade KNOWING their basic math facts. This includes ADDITION, SUBTRACTION, MULTIPLICATION, AND DIVISION! If your child is weak in any of these areas, we suggest flashcard drills on a nightly basis until they are learned. The math concepts taught in 5th grade are a lot of application, so the better your child knows their basic facts, the better they can handle the higher level math concepts that are ever present in fifth grade!
